Detergent bottle sprays only one to two feet from the bottle.

This means the detergent bottle is working exactly as it should.  The detergent bottle is designed to spray with low water pressure.  By using low pressure the detergent can be sprayed on to the surface to be cleaned and allow the detergent solution to stay on the surface so it can do its chemical cleaning action.  If high pressure spray is used, the detergent solution would be blown off the surface before any chemical cleaning could take place.
